Police are looking for a man they say escaped from custody during an arrest Friday night.

Police say they pulled William Monge-Betancourt over for speeding on the Cross Bronx Expressway.

Monge-Betancourt and his passenger were arrested for allegedly having drugs in the car with them when they were stopped.

While in custody, police allege that Monge-Betancourt wrestled free, injuring an officer's hand in the process, and took off against oncoming traffic on the Expressway.

The passenger was arrested without incident.

Anyone with information on the case should contact the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS, or text CRIMES and then enter TIP577, or visit www.nypdcrimestoppers.com.
