Police are asking for your help finding a man that they say tried to rape a woman in Manhattan.

Police say it happened just after 6 p.m. Friday in Washington Heights.

They released surveillance video of the suspect, of which a still image can be seen above.

The man allegedly grabbed the 52-year-old woman from behind and attempted to sexually assault her.

He let her go when she screamed, according to police, but he then allegedly followed her into the lobby of her building.

Police say the man took the victim's cellphone before running away.

Anyone with information on the case should contact the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS, or text CRIMES and then enter TIP577, or visit www.nypdcrimestoppers.com.
