Police have arrested a man that they say tried to rob someone in a bathroom at the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Manhattan.

Kenneth Mays of the Bronx has been charged with robbery and criminal possession of a weapon.

Port Authority police say that around 8 p.m. Friday, he followed a 61-year-old man into a bathroom, pressed a knife into his back and demanded money.

Mays was able to take cash out of the man's pocket before the victim decided to fight back.

Port Authority officers responded to the ensuing scuffle and arrested Mays.

They say they recovered both the money and the knife.

The victim, who received a cut on his hand in the fight, was treated by EMS technicians on the scene.
