New Yorkers who make minimum wage will be getting a raise next week.

The state's minimum wage is going up 75 cents to $8 on Tuesday.

The increase was included in the state budget approved by Governor Andrew Cuomo and Albany lawmakers earlier this year.

New York's minimum wage will go up to $8.75 by the end of next year and $9 by the end of 2015.

The national minimum is $7.25 and has not been raised since 2009.
