Governor Andrew Cuomo got to play Santa for a day Sunday, as he helped distribute toys, coats and school supplies to some lucky kids in Brooklyn.
The governor was joined by a host of local officials to hand out toys and holiday cheer to kids at the Hope City Empowerment Center in Prospect Heights.
While the kids were excited about their gifts, many of them were just as excited that the governor made a guest appearance.
"The governor was nice to everybody, and that's why I like the governor," said one person.
"I think it was very nice for him to come and give kids gifts and other people that didn't have money to go buy gifts," said another. "I think it was nice for him to come."
"I'm happy because I never met him in my life, and it was my dream to meet him," said a third.
The donations came from a statewide drive that the governor launched earlier this month to help families in need during the holidays.
