Police are investigating the shooting of a child near a park in the Bronx.
Officials say the 9-year-old boy was walking down Prospect Avenue near Crotona Park at around 4 p.m. Wednesday when he was shot in the right foot.
The New York City Fire Department says the boy was taken to Jacobi Hospital and is in serious but stable condition.
Officials say the boy may have been hit by a stray bullet.
Neighbors wouldn't go on camera to speak, but they said off camera that they didn't think the boy was the intended target.
The neighbors said off camera that there was an argument among adults near the location on Tuesday and that someone allegedly said, "I'll be back."
Police are investigating the incident at the scene.
