It's a lucky day for a group of nine Staten Island residents.
They received Tuesday a check for $1 million, which they won from the October 26 Powerball drawing.
The group is made up of health care workers and some friends, and they've been playing the lottery together for years.
"More time, more money to spend with the family and on the kids and stuff, so it will be a really good Christmas," said Deborah Scalera, one of the winners.
"I've been playing with the girls maybe approximately 15 [years], and people do win," said Stephany Marchese, one of the winners. "I mean, this is it. People do win, and I'm going to keep on playing. I'm thrilled."
After taxes, each of the nine women will walk away with a little more than $69,000.
