New information about the Metro-North derailment in the Bronx indicates the engineer may have lost focus nearly ten minutes before the crash.

Motorman William Rockefeller was at the controls when the Hudson Line train crashed in the Bronx more than a week ago.

The engineer of another train that passed Rockefeller's nine minutes before the accident says Rockefeller failed to dim his headlights, as Metro-North policy requires.

The NTSB also says it found nothing mechanically wrong with the train and that the so-called "dead man switch" worked as it's supposed to.
