A parade of animals made its way into Manhattan's Christ Church Sunday, and a rabbi and minister were there to greet them for the fifth annual Blessing of the Animals.
New Yorkers brought along fish, dogs and even a horse.
"One of the dogs is mine. The other is our best family's friend's," said one person. "Our two dogs, Otis and Sunshine, were married."
"I'm truly, truly impressed and truly amazed at how wonderful I feel in inside for everything that's happened here today and the people I've met and the animals," said another.
"This year, we've been in the news a lot. People are wondering about the carriage horses and what's going on with them, so we wanted to come out here and be part of New York City's great animal-loving community, because we love our animals," said a third.
Donations for the Animal Control and Care of New York City were accepted at the event.
