New Yorkers diagnosed with HIV can now be connected to medical support with just a text message.

On Monday, which is World AIDS day, the New York City Department of Health announced the launch of the HIV Care mobile texting service.

HIV Care provides medication and appointment reminders, and includes testing locations for people who haven't been diagnosed.

All you have to do is text CARE to 877877 to get started.

Use of the service is confidential.
