A Manhattan man faces several charges after police say he accidentally fired a gun inside his Lower East Side apartment and injured his grandson.

Police say Luis Gonzalez fired a bullet into the concrete ceiling of his home in the Vladeck Houses late Friday morning.

They say that his 4-year-old grandson had to be taken to the hospital when a piece of that ceiling fell and hit him in the ear.

Gonzalez faces charges of reckless endangerment, assault and endangering the welfare of a child.

Two rifles and a shotgun were taken from his apartment during the investigation.

Gonzalez is a licensed gun owner.
