Police are looking for the person who tied up a Queens man and stabbed him to death.
A first-floor neighbor called police on Tuesday morning. Police found the man with head injuries and multiple stab wounds in a basement apartment on 131st Street in South Ozone Park.
Police are trying to find a heavy-set man in a black jacket who was seen running from the home.
According to sources, the victim's hands were tied up with duct tape. There were no signs of forced entry.
The man's name has not been released, but police say he is believed to be in his 30s.
Neighbors were shocked and worried about their own safety.
"I am in this corner a lot, and I am kinda really surprised. It takes me to shock when I saw that crime scene van down there,” said neighbor David Singh.
"So I know I must be careful when I'm leaving here in the dark because I leave here every morning something to five, you know? So I know I'll have to be careful leaving here,” said Herbert Luke, another neighbor.
