Police are investigating an alleged sexual assault in Central Park.

Surveillance cameras show the woman walking with her alleged attacker at around 3:30 a.m. Sunday.

The police commissioner says she met the man, who called himself "Omar," outside a church facility on 88th Street that helps the homeless.

According to police, they had a conversation, and he walked with her, but the woman told police that once they entered the park, Omar attacked and raped her.

The woman was treated at Mt. Sinai Hospital.

Her attacker is described as being 5 feet, 9 inches tall, wearing a red hat and black leather jacket.

Anyone with information on the case should contact the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS, or text CRIMES and then enter TIP577, or visit www.nypdcrimestoppers.com. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 (http://commoncrawl.org/faq/) Profile: TWCSAMLSP
