There's good news for New Yorkers who need a little help paying for their heating bills this winter.

Eligible households can start applying online Monday for up to $650 of federal aid to help pay for heating costs.

The New York Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance also said that New Yorkers living outside the city will be able to apply for the Home Energy Assistance Program for the first time.

Subsidies are based on household income and size.
