With the search for missing teenager Avonte Oquendo waging on, Schools Chancellor Dennis Walcott is reviewing school safety protocols.
Avonte Oquendo walked out of his Long Island City school back on October 4.
Since, Walcott said building response teams are being put through enhanced training.
There are also plans to review how two-way radios, surveillance cameras, PA systems and possible panic buttons could be put to use.
In collaboration with the NYPD, the DOE will provide additional training for School Safety Agents to deal with special need students.
Training will also be stepped up for special education paraprofessionals.
