Al Jazeera America will soon be coming to Time Warner Cable.

According to the New York Times, Time Warner Cable and Brighthouse Networks have come to an agreement to carry the network.

As a result, the channel will be made available to some 55 million homes over the next few months.

Time Warner Executive Vice President Melinda Witmer was quoted as saying, "We said in January that we would consider Al Jazeera America. Now that the channel is live, we think that it would be of value to our customers."

Time Warner Cable is the parent company on NY1.
