The Food Network's biggest stars strutted the red carpet Thursday as the New York City Wine and Food Festival got underway.
The event this year is also celebrating the network's 20th anniversary.
The channel has made ordinary chefs huge celebrities and household names.
A few of them spoke to NY1.
"I want to say that I was probably the third or fourth employee on the Food Network," said Emeril Lagasse, a celebrity chef with the Food Network. "It's been a great evolution to see a channel evolve."
"I know when it first started, people were saying that it was a crazy idea, no one would care," said Giada De Laurentiis, a celebrity chef with the Food Network. "I think people have really come around.
"Food Network basically shows every facet of food in every lifestyle, so I think we've come a long way," said Guy Fieri, a celebrity chef with the Food Network. "But I think there's a lot more for us to explore."
Organizers say this weekend's festival is not just a birthday party but also a fundraiser.
All proceeds from the event will go to Share our Strength and the Food Bank for New York City.

NY1 is a sponsor of the festival, which runs through Sunday.
