Police are employing new methods that they hope will bring missing teen Avonte Oquendo home.

They are using an audio recording of Avonte's mother.

Police hope he'll hear it and it'll lead him to approach officers.

They also released an updated photo of Avonte and a photo of a shirt he was wearing on the day he disappeared, seen at left.

Police Commissioner Ray Kelly says there's no reason to suspect foul play in the teen's disappearance, but he says investigators have interviewed at least 60 registered sex offenders who live in the area where he was last seen.

Kelly says there's no timetable for how long the police department will continue devoting so many resources to the search.

"Well, we have to make those judgement calls," Kelly said. "We'll see as we go forward here as tio how long our efforts are going to remain as concentrated as they are now."

David Perecman, a lawyer for the family, is praising the extensive search efforts, but is pointing fingers at the school the boy disappeared from.

"I don't want to cast stones without knowing, but the fact that he got away from that class and got downstairs means somebody was not looking and not watching, because otherwise, it wouldn't have happened," Perecman said.

The last time Avonte Oquendo was seen was on surveillance video as he walked out of Riverview School on October 4.
