Police are searching for a man they say tried to rape and rob a woman in SoHo.

Police say that around 1:15 a.m. Tuesday, the man approached the 20-year-old female victim between Spring and Prince Streets.

He allegedly placed her in a choke hold and tried to rape her.

The suspect ran away with the victim's bag.

The victim was taken to a local hospital with facial injuries.
