There was an unexpected treat in Times Square Thursday as Paul McCartney put on a surprise show.
Thousands crowded in Times Square as the former Beatle took the stage.
The concert came a day after McCartney surprised 400 students at the Frank Sinatra School of the Arts in the Astoria section of Queens.
"Paul McCartney. Check that off my bucket lists," said one person who saw the concert. "Didn't have to pay hundreds of dollars for it, so it was awesome."
McCartney is promoting his latest album. It's the first album in six years that features brand new material.
The album is called "New."
It's being released on Tuesday.
