NY1 VIDEO: Protesters gathered outside Staten Island's Borough Hall Friday, urging Congress to come to an agreement on the debt ceiling before October 1, with speakers denouncing Rep. Michael Grimm for voting in favor of a debt ceiling resolution that would defund the Affordable Care Act.

In a statement to NY1, a representative from Grimm's office said, in part, "The resolution Rep. Grimm voted for does not shut down the government. It keeps the government running through December 15. Congressman Grimm has been very clear that he does not support a government shutdown." ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
