Those who think they've snagged a great online deal for a trip to the Metropolitan Museum of Art may want to read the fine print.

Offers for an $18 admission deal recently appeared on the discount website Groupon, calling it a $25 value.

The Met officially operates on a "pay-as-you-wish" admission policy, but has a recommended donation of $25 for adults.

The museum currently faces two lawsuits saying visitors are tricked into thinking the $25 rate is mandatory.

The Met says the coupon and Groupon deals help people bypass lines by giving them the opportunity to flash their tickets and pass through quickly.

The coupon is no longer available online, but thousands were purchased. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
