After going underwater during Hurricane Sandy, an "Aquafence" was installed at Jane's Carousel in Brooklyn Bridge Park to give the amusement ride a little extra protection.
The marine grade fence can protect from up to four feet of flood waters.
"One of the nice things about the Aquafence, although you see it here today, in about three hours, you will not see it and hopefully never need to see it again. If you do need to see it, it can be brought up from storage and put out in about three hours with six to 10 people," said Aquafence's Director of New York Operations Adam Goldberg.
The carousel is located on the East River between the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges.
It was built back in 1922 by the Philadelphia Toboggan Company.
