The city's oldest cab driver has collected his last fare.

Johnnie "Spider" Footman passed away this week.

He began his job driving a New York City taxi in 1947.

He maintained a valid yellow cab license ever since.

Though Spider's health had stopped him from driving in recent months, he spent many of his last days at the cab depot in Long Island City among longtime friends and fellow drivers.

He was also the subject of a recent documentary called "Drivers Wanted."

In all his years behind the wheel, Spider had a spotless driving record and knew the city like the back of his hand.

He was 94 years old.
