Police are searching for the suspect who allegedly shot a man outside his Lower East Side apartment while trying to rob him.

Investigators say it happened as the victim was entering his apartment on Clinton Street at around 4:30 a.m. Friday.

They say a man wearing a brown hoodie came up to him and robbed him of his gold chain.

That's when investigators say the suspect also fired a shot, which hit the victim in the face.

He was taken to Bellevue Hospital but is expected to be OK.

Anyone with information on the case should contact the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS, or text CRIMES and then enter TIP577, or visit www.nypdcrimestoppers.com.
