Summer's not over yet.
The mercury rose to a high of 96 in Central Park Wednesday and only dipped to 89 by 5 p.m.
The heat index was 103.
It wasn't all bad news for New Yorkers who used the extra warmth to exercise outdoors, but not everyone was thrilled about the heat.
"It's wow hot out here," said one New Yorker. "Mother nature, like, why you doing this though? Like, it's the fall time."
"It's too hot," said another. "Too hot, too sticky.
"Me, I really don't care," said a third. "I have air conditioning, and I'm enjoying the weather. I'd rather be hot than cold."
"I think it's lovely," said a fourth. "I don't mind it at all. I usually pay to go into a steam bath, and I don't have to do that."
Wednesday's temperature was about 20 degrees above average.
The mercury is expected to be in the 90s again Thursday.
