Plans for the world's largest Ferris Wheel on Staten Island are one step closer to reality.
The city's planning commission has given the proposal it's stamp of approval.
It now heads to the City Council for a vote next month.
If approved, the 625-foot-high New York Wheel would be built along with a shopping mall next to the St. George Ferry Terminal.
Construction could begin as soon as next year.
It's slated to open in 2016.
