Police in the Bronx are trying to figure out who attacked a 66-year-old woman inside her apartment Monday.
Officials say the woman, whose name was not immediately known, was found inside her home located at 2423 Arthur Avenue in Belmont.
NY1 is told she had severe wounds to her head and face and is listed in critical but stable condition at the hospital.
Police say the woman was discovered by her daughter, who stopped by after she was unable to get in touch with her mother.
Police say there were no signs of forced entry.
