Thousands of riders took to the streets Sunday morning in the NYC Century Bike Tour.
The event seeks to draw attention to cyclists' rights and demonstrate the safe navigation of city streets.
There are no road closures for the event. Participants are instructed to use pre-existing bike lanes and obey all traffic laws.
The tour kicked off from Central Park in Manhattan and Prospect Park in Brooklyn, with riders choosing predetermined routes that ranged between 15 and 100 miles.
