Officials say a machete-wielding man, who was shot by police on Saturday night, faces charges of menacing an officer.
The incident happened around 8 p.m., when police say officers were called to East 46th Street in East Flatbush.
According to police, 49-year-old Rene Loney came out of the building with a machete in each hand.
Loney was shot once in the hip and once in the arm, after police say he confronted the officers.
Officials say the machetes were recovered at the scene.
Loney was taken to the hospital, where officials say he is in stable condition.
The officers were treated for ringing in the ears.
