Sixty-eight small dogs rescued from a house fire on Staten Island are doing well, and many are looking for a home.

Firefighters discovered the dogs living in what they call hoarding conditions in the burning home on Bowen Street.

The fire happened on August 23.

Firefighters were able to put the flames out in 10 minutes, and no one was injured.

Officers with Animal Care and Control of New York City say they've been treating the dogs since the fire.

For information on adopting one of them, you can email adopt@nycacc.org.
