The city comptroller's race is getting more personal, as both Democrats released new attack ads Friday heading into the final weekend before the primary.

A spot from Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer brings up Eliot Spitzer's prostitution scandal, which Stringer previously said he wouldn't mention.

Spitzer also has a new ad that calls out his opponent for supporting the controversial extension of term limits.

Spitzer is making no apologies for the turn towards a more negative atmosphere, saying he's proud of the way his campaign has been run.

"I'm not going to even wade into that debate," he said. "People run campaigns that reflect who they are. We've run a campaign that's been affirmative, talked about what I have done in government for many, many years, and I couldn't be more proud of the tone and the way we've run this campaign."

The latest polls show a very close race with the candidates neck and neck just days before Tuesday's primary.
