A person claiming to have driven in a car around Manhattan in 24 minutes is attracting the attention of the New York Police Department.

The driver posted a sped up video of the cruise on YouTube.

According to the video, it was recorded on August 26.

The 2006 BMW started and ended at the FDR Drive and 116th Street, taking a clockwise journey.

The video was sped up, so viewers can see the entire trip in just under six minutes.

Police Commissioner Ray Kelly says he's confident the driver will be caught.

"We've seen this before, people that put these videos up. We've made, we've taken enforcement action as a result. I'm not aware of this video. We'll take a look at it. We now have license plate readers that are positioned in the city that will assist in this type of investigation," Kelly said.

According to the video, the driver stopped at six red lights along the way.
