A hacker group called the "Syrian Electronic Army" is claiming responsibility for hacking into the New York Times website yesterday.
Readers who tried to click on the site got only error messages for part of the afternoon.
The Times set up alternate websites, posting stories about chemical attacks in Syria.
The Syrian Electronic Army says it's been behind several cyber attacks on targets including the Washington Post and The Associated Press.
This was the second major disruption this month for the Times' website.
It went down two weeks ago because of an internal issue.
