A ferry boat made a hard landing on Liberty Island Tuesday and injured at least eight passengers.
The Coast Guard says the small Statue Cruises boat, called the "Miss New Jersey," crashed into a dock shortly after 3 p.m. Tuesday.
Officials say the boat was carrying nearly 500 passengers.
The National Parks Service says the eight passengers had mostly scratches and bruises, and they say damage to the boat and dock was minor.
The Coast Guard says the crew will be tested for drugs and alcohol.
The boat is being held on Liberty Island while investigators work to determine what caused the crash.
In a statement, Statue Cruises says, "We are relieved that there were no serious injuries and we are working with the National Park Service to identify the cause of the hard landing."
