Brooke Astor's son has been released from prison early.
Anthony Marshall, 89, was granted medical parole after spending two months in a New York prison because he suffers from permanent illness.
Authorities say Marshall suffers from Parkinson's Disease and congestive heart failure, and cannot care for himself.
He surrendered in mid-June after being convicted of taking advantage of his mother's mental decline to steal millions from her.
He was set to serve one to three years in prison.
One of Marshall's attorneys released a statement, saying, "We're gratified by the parole board's unanimous and compassionate decision, which is effective immediately."
