Police are asking for help identifying a man wanted in connection with an attempted assault in the Bronx.

The New York City Police Department has released two photos, seen above, of the man they're looking for.

Investigators say that last month, a 27-year-old woman sitting with her child noticed the man performing a lewd act on a Bx2 bus.

When the woman alerted the bus driver, police say the man pulled out a knife and threatened her, but she was able to defend herself.

Police say the man ran off when the bus stopped at 171st Street and the Grand Concourse.

No one was hurt.

Anyone with information on the case should contact the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS, or text CRIMES and then enter TIP577, or visit www.nypdcrimestoppers.com.
