There is a lot to do in New York, but until Monday, cliff diving was not one of them.
Colombian diver Orlando Duque leapt backwards from a helicopter into New York Harbor near the Statue of Liberty.
Duque fell 75 feet into the chilly Hudson water in order to kick off the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series coming to America this weekend.
The competition is taking place in Boston this Sunday and is the fifth and only U.S. stop on the international tour.
According to redbullcliffdiving.com, Duque holds nine world championship titles in diving and holds a Guinness World Record for highest scoring dive.
