The Staten Island district attorney's office on Tuesday announced the arrests of 39 members of an alleged drug ring.
The DA's office says the group smuggled huge amounts of cocaine, transported illegal guns into the area and plotted murders.
The arrests are the result of a 16-month investigation dubbed "Operation Mayberry" by the Staten Island narcotics bureau and gang squad.
As part of the bust, police seized more than 45 pounds of cocaine as well as an array of guns and ammunition.
They say the suspects operated out of the Port Richmond, West Brighton, New Brighton and Mariners Harbor.
