A judge says the murder trial of the man accused of killing young Etan Patz will likely begin next spring.
Pedro Hernandez appeared in court briefly Wednesday.
Hernandez was charged with murder in 2012 after he confessed to choking Patz.
He was a clerk at a SoHo store near where Patz was last seen in 1979.
The boy's body has never been found.
His lawyers argue that the confession should be thrown out because he is schizophrenic and bipolar.
Hernandez was arrested after police received a tip that he told people he killed a child in New York.
