Police say a city bus driver was assaulted and robbed aboard her M14 bus in the Lower East Side on Monday night.

The driver was driving southbound on the FDR service road between Houston and Delancey Streets around 8:35 p.m. when she let passengers off, and then a man boarded the bus.

The attacker punched the driver in the face, took her purse and fled, according to police.

Authorities say the driver was brought to New York Downtown Hospital for treatment.

According to the Transport Workers Union, the victim has been a bus driver for 14 years. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
