A teenager was arrested and charged in connection with last week's shooting and injuring of a 9-year-old girl in the Kingsbridge section of the Bronx.
Billie James Jr., 17, seen above, faces charges of attempted murder, assault, reckless endangerment, criminal possession of a weapon and endangering the welfare of a child.
Amanda Chauan was hit in the abdomen when a shooter on a bike opened fire near the corner of 233rd Street and Bailey Avenue in Kingsbridge Friday night.
James' bail was set at $250,000 bond or $100,000 cash and he is expected back in court on Thursday.
Police Commissioner Ray Kelly said it is not clear if the shooter was aiming at someone or just firing indiscriminately.
"We believe the motive was a dispute at that location sometime earlier and he went back apparently seeking revenge on the bicycle and fired," Kelly said.
Amanda is now recovering at home after being released from the hospital Sunday.
