Police were investigating Sunday the fatal stabbing of a 17-year-old boy that took place in the Bath Beach area of Brooklyn early that morning.
Officers responding around 3:45 a.m. Sunday found Kenny Chen at the corner of Benson and 26th Avenues, with a stab wound to his body.
He was taken to Coney Island Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
People who know Kenny said they did not understand why he would have been killed.
"Kenny was like a, I always knew him as a calm friend," said John Liu, a friend of Kenny. "Like, we used to talk and laugh sometimes when we bump into each other in the road, once in a while. But we were never close, we'd never talk about our personal problems, I don't know what kind of happened over here today, so I feel really bad."
No one has been arrested in connection with Chen's death.
