A Brooklyn man is facing murder charges in connection with the death of a Manhattan man who was last seen in Brighton Beach in September and whose body was found upstate a month later.

Mikhail Chernyaev, a 46-year-old resident of Brighton Beach, is charged with second-degree murder.

Charles Butler, 56, seen above, was last seen in Brighton Beach on September 19. His body was found in Port Jervis, N.Y. on October 15 but was only recently identified.

Officials say Chernyaev was being questioned by police on a different matter but ended up making statements that he harmed Butler.

Chernyaev was the ex-boyfriend of Butler's girlfriend, according to authorities.
