The man police say was behind an armed carjacking and robbery spree last week will have to undergo a psychiatric evaluation.
A judge ordered Nicolas Almonte held until the exam is performed.
The Queens District Attorney says the 27-year-old was arraigned on charges of robbery and unlawful imprisonment.
Prosecutors say in a one hour span Thursday morning, Almonte used a BB gun to carjack and rob several people.
Police spent all day on a manhunt before finding him in Brooklyn.
Almonte faces 25 years in prison.
He's due back in court May 28.
