SUNY Downstate is looking for ways to revive Long Island College Hospital after it backed down from a plan to close the facility.

SUNY Downstate has issued a public "Request for Information", attempting to find any hospital operators or health care providers who can offer medical services in or around the LICH campus in Cobble Hill.

They're required by law to develop a sustainability plan before the state can consider financial assistance.

A judge's temporary restraining order forced SUNY Downstate to keep the hospital open last month.

SUNY officials say LICH has been losing $1 million per week.
