Cyclists in Battery Park are gearing up for a fight over a plan to remove a bike rack outside their apartment building.

Residents of the Gateway Plaza building said someone from the Citibike program posted a notice saying they'd have to remove their bikes by Sunday.

A Citibike rack would go in instead, run by Citigroup, who's installing pay-for-access bike share stations across the city.

Resident Shelly Mossey said installing the rack there would push out local cyclists.

"This is a quality of life issue, and I feel like, you know, a big corporation is coming in and bullying people who are residents here," Mossey said. "I think that having tourists catered to and bent over for, and not helping people who are in the communities, is ridiculous."

The New York City Department of Transportation said the rack was being installed at the request of the property owner and has the support of the Battery Park City Authority.
