Drivers in upper Manhattan are getting a break on parking for awhile.
Starting Monday, the city is suspending alternate-side parking for parts of Washington Heights and Inwood until further notice.
The area includes streets from the northern tip of Manhattan down to, but not including, 181st Street.
The neighborhoods are getting reduced parking regulations because the streets have had a good cleanliness rating for two consecutive years.
A total of 1,700 new street cleaning signs are being installed.
Alternate-side parking signs from 181st Street down to 155th Street have already been changed.
The new regulations will be enforced there starting next Monday.
