After one season in green, Tim Tebow is no longer a Jet.
The team waived the Heisman Trophy winner earlier today.
Tebow was traded to the Jets from the Broncos last year as a backup for Mark Sanchez, but saw limited playing time during the season.
He attempted just eight passes, threw for 39 yards, and rushed for 102 yards.
His release follows the Jets' drafting of college quarterback Geno Smith and their signing of veteran quarterback David Garrard.
In a statement, Jets head coach Rex Ryan said, "We have a great deal of respect for Tim Tebow. Unfortunately, things did not work out the way we all had hoped. We wish him the best moving forward."
