More NBA history will be made in Brooklyn this year as the borough will host the league's draft for the first time.
It's scheduled for Barclays Center on June 27.
Commissioner David Stern says the home of the Brooklyn Nets is the perfect venue to introduce the next generation of basketball stars to the world.
Brooklyn fans who spoke with NY1 say the event will be great for the borough.
"I'm excited about it. I like how now we have the Barclays cleaning up the neighborhood and then having the draft here it's gonna it's incredible great, great experience," said one Brooklyn resident.
"I think that's really cool its gonna make Brooklyn look cool," said another Brooklyn resident.
Tickets for the draft go on sale on May 22.
The draft was held at Madison Square Garden for 10 straight years starting in 2001
It was held at the Prudential Center in Newark the last two years.
